If you’re interested in education, this newsletter might be of interest. I’m one of an increasingly rare breed: although I qualified as a teacher back in 1975, I still love it. I don’t work in a school any more, but I teach a few courses to adults.

I don’t much like government pronouncements about what teachers should be doing, because they seem to be made mainly by people who, in my opinion, don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. At least, that’s my experience in England.

I do try to be reasoned and reasonable, but my measured prose all too often descends into a rant. Well look, you can always unsubscribe if it all gets too much.

The Middle Leadership section is mainly concerned with leading and managing a subject or subject department in a secondary school. I’ve not aligned myself with any syllabus or set of standards that lead to a professional qualification, so I’m not offering advice as such. What I am offering are tales and suggestions based on my experience. So, caveat emptor (let the buyer beware).

I also do a lot of writing. I am a regular contributor to education magazines in England, and I have a website about writing. And there’s a fairly comprehensive list of the publications I’ve written for here: my writing.

If you want to find out more about me, a potted summary fo my CV/Resumé is here: CV/Resumé. You can contact me at terry.freedman+50000@gmail.com.
